The Ballad of Three Dead Mice

4 January 2006

Three dead mice.
See how they no longer run.
They ran across the kitchen floor,
(they won't be running anywhere now)
I hope I won't find any more
than three dead mice.

HTH :-)

Seriously, the little buggers breed like, er...rabbits. Had them at my old house years ago and after being driven nuts for a couple of weeks in a game of cat'n'mouse (groan) trying to kill the things, I gave up and called for reinforcements in the guise of the lads from Rentokil. Two vists, job done. Sorted. Not expensive, either.

On the other hand, just move out. ;-)

Three is probably the tip of the iceberg. It is up to the house owner to deal with it as she so chooses but I would take the recommendation offered above in the previous comment. Never had such a problem as we have almost always had a cat but I don't think the mice know that Fred is even scared of a bird chirping at him and runs home to safety.

You can get the council to come and deal with Mice free of Charge in domestic settings.

They turn up, leave bait boxes, turn up again 2 weeks later to remove the left overs.

Cost free, and no more mice. The mostly die in the wall cavities and under the floorboards. The Poison that is used removes moisture from the body, so the corpses dessicate, leaving no smell.

Mind you, the ones that you unfortunatly do find on the carpet look *very* odd. :-(

Yep, I'd go with the moving out option... Oh, you are! How is that going? Missed you on Tuesday at Angel Knits!

Reminds me of when I was 14 and had to write a poem about an element of the periodic table (this was English I think, not Chemistry). Mine was this:

Uranium-235

Two three five
Two three five
See how it blows
See how it blows
It falls through the sky with a flash and a zoom
The atoms collide and then make a mushroom
You hide under the table but then it goes boom
Two three five.

(I may have been a disturbed teenager)
