Heat-related sleeplessness on top of insomnia is just not fair.
I got fed up trying (and failing) to get to sleep, so I got up and did a little spinning and there's definite improvement.
I really need sleep though, and soon. Sleep deprivation and the requirement to do lots of HTML and CSS coding really isn't a good mix.
Perhaps you can't sleep because you're so excited and really want to spin all night long. Can you spin straw into gold, yet?
Hi Ann,
Saw your post on techspin and thought I would reply here. I'm a pretty new spinner too and feel a little shy posting to the list. I have found the small, spiral bound book, "Spinner's Companion" to be invaluable! This is by Interweave Press. There is a guide on how many times to treadle for a certain length of yarn to get the type of yarn you desire. Remember, if you ply the yarn, you will want to double that number because you will lose about half the twist when plying. My yarn has turned out MUCH better since discovering this little book. I like a mathematical approach versus the "does it look the way you want it" approach. By the way, your first attempts are great! You should have seen mine. LOLOL
Have fun,
Karen
