I can't believe it was that long ago. You mention of handwriting got me - I still have the piece of paper on which he tried to write a letter to his sister in Germany. The shaky sentence (when he had to give up) still chokes me up. You have such wonderful memories of your dad and, as someone has said, he would be very proud of you. Thank you for sharing this.
