reclaiming

Leave anything around for long enough, and Mother Nature will begin to reclaim it.

These are the backs of the warehouses in Vyner Street, n'est-ce pas? Far from being reclaimed by nature most of these warehouses seem to be inhabited by trendy artist types who carefully cultivate the dilapidation of the exterior. Partly as a security measure, I guess, but also to emphasis their 'street' credentials.

just about to say "what an amazing photo, where is it?" when I read Dominic's comment - lo, it is virtually next door to my house. Never knew. Has anyone ventured inside the scary too-cool-for school galleries along Vyner Street?

Right canal, wrong bit of it. :)

It's actually the back of some warehouses behind Kings Cross/St Pancras, taken from Camley Street Natural Park.

I like the comment as well as the pic - I love it when tree roots overcome tarmac / paving slabs. And when you see a flowers growing in brick walls...
