The Story
After the longest and darkest weekend of my life, I arrived back in London to rest and gather up some strength before going back to Scotland for my dad's funeral.
The hustle and bustle of Paddington Station seemed strange and wrong. All these lives continuing on around me. It seemed so unfair.
My throat tightened and the tears which had been falling almost constantly over the previous days threatened to fall once more.
Then something happened. The sun broke through the clouds and in turn, through the dirt and grime of the station roof, and in that moment someting in me changed.
I realised that life goes on. The wheel keeps on turning and the sun will rise again tomorrow.
