Flying High
The Story
I love living in London, but sometimes, I love leaving it for a while, because the view from the window of an aeroplane as it flies over London before coming in to land at Heathrow Airport just takes my breath away.

A perfect photo which captures all the things I'm most passionate about - London and aviation. Looks like a perfect day, too. I travel an awful lot with work and I pray for that routing to Heathrow each time I fly. Out over the east end, above Canary Wharf, dropping lower and lower along the great river that divides our city, each landmark giving its own welcome. Technically good image too - nicely lit, great composition. Nice work.

Glorious picture. I used to fly kites on Clapham Common and watch the planes fly over, and sometimes look down and see the common from a plane on the way in to Heathrow which was always serenely orientating and like a welcome home sign above a door.
