Faces
The Story
I'd been having a hectic day at work and decided to seek sanctuary in the relative peacefulness of the British Library over lunchtime.
Somewhat ironically, I got there to find that they'd organised a series of lunchtime concerts, of which I had stumbled upon the first.
So while I didn't get all of the peace and quiet I was looking for, I did get to hear some Kurdish music, see some Kurdish dancing, and took several pictures, including several of the crowd.
This week's Photo Friday topic is Faces, and it reminded me how I've grown to love candid and street photography. There's something special about those unposed pictures, a glimpse into someone else's world for a second.
From the happy smile of the pregnant lady to the scowl of the elderly woman in the racy red coat via red-cheeked exertion of the musician and the intense concentration of the little boy sitting on his mother's lap and many, many more, all caught, for a moment, by the music and the spectacle in front of them.
