One Week/One Skein

So a while back I signed up for another one of these yarn swap thingywotsits, and last week, my first parcel of this swap turned up, only I've been too distracted and exhausted to blog about it until now.

As a bit of explanation, in the last week, I have:

• Worked on the work blog until the point where I had to dash off to catch up with the Accessifyforum bods for dinner
• Went from that dinner to the @media pre-party social thing
• Got home past midnight (which is when I got the package)
• Attended @media Day 1
• Left the Day 1 after party to have dinner with the NotMedia folks
• Rejoined the Day 1 after party
• Got home past 2 am
• Attended @media Day 2
• Spent Saturday morning at the Greenwich Observatory getting a great tour, courtesy of Jim
• Spent Saturday afternoon with a bunch of folks in a pub
• Spent Saturday evening being denied dessert by Skippy McWonderfuck
• Spent Sunday helping get Christine's luggage into my room and shopping for essential supplies
• Spent Sunday evening jumping around like a lunatic seeing The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Cheap Trick and Def Leppard (stop laughing, it was a great night)
• Spent Monday walking around central London, including leading Christine astray in Liberty and down Carnaby Street
• Spent Tuesday unable to move from sheer exhaustion
• Spent Wednesday dashing into work to do something urgent
• Went from work to Putney to visit the utterly fabulous Stash Yarns
• Had a mad dash back across London to Kentish Town for the last of my physiotherapy classes
• Went back into Central London to meet up with Christine again, show her John Lewis and go for dinner
• Got Christine and her luggage to Kings Cross Thameslink before 10am, so she could get to Gatwick to go back to Houston
• Visited my friend in Barts again
• Came home and slept for hours

So I'm way behind in both my blogging (for both blogs, now), and my emailing, and my knitting, and about a million other things, so I'm just going to do things one thing at a time.

So for now, I'm going to show off the fabulous stuff that my one skein pal sent me, and the pretty wrapping it came in.

I'm delighted that she sent me Curious Yarns sock yarn, because I've been secretly drooling over the goodies at Curious Yarns for ages now, and several times chickened out of buying myself some. Once more, the stuff isn't in a colour I'd have picked out for myself, but I really love the colours and once I've got the saviour sock and the super secret project finished, I fully intend to turn this one skein into something nice for myself.

So thank you one skein pal - you chose very well.

And a little miss sunshine and what's that from lush?

Glad to hear you're doing well if a tad busy.

So glad the package arrived in one piece. I am always a little nervous about London post! I am also glad you like the yarn, I was a little worried it might not be what you would choose but I liked mine and the socks it made so much I felt I had to send it. I'm planning on a trip to Stash at the weekend to see if I can find a good skein for your July present. Hope next week is a little less hectic for you
