So. Not particularly surprising that I got heat exhaustion, really.
I'm Scottish. We're just not built to deal with this kind of heat.
Also.
NEVER ever living in an attic again.
Great in winter, not so great in summer.
I would love to have temps of 26.6 right now; the 35 C constantly is getting to be a bit much here in Houston. However, I'm spoiled by air conditioning, and 31 in your flat? Too bloody hot. No wonder you're melting. Want to come visit us and our air conditioning set on a cool 23 or so all the time?
Speaking as a fellow attic-dweller, I sympathise. All too well.
And it's weird, because I used to live in New Orleans, and I used to not have the air conditioner on that often, and I thought "Surely I'm totally okay with heat. Surely there isn't a problem."
But, obviously, six years in this country, a heat wave, and I'm dead to the world.
Well you have learned a valuable lesson. Hope you can cope better soon.
My attic room isn't good in winter or summer. Since I'm technically in the loft, there's no insulation above me; so even though heat rises it just goes straight outside and leaves me freezing. And in summer... Well, you're familiar with that. ;) At least being at the top of the house, you get a better breeze through the window.
Living in an attic, do you ever get the urge to write a classic?
I can confirm that Lanarkshire is bloody lovely at the moment. I've even managed to get a... thingy.. what do you call it... you know.. when your skin isn't pale blue anymore.. BEIGE!!
No, wait..
Not tempted to move back to Scotland are you? ;)
Yeah...you're next place shouldn't be an attic then...
