3 Flatmates (male)
4 Bedrooms
2 Toilets
1 Bath
1 Shower (en-suite) (my room)
2 Microwaves
48 Stairs (46 from front door to bed, 2 branch off to bathroom and toilet)
39 Drawers (in my room alone)
2 Mirrors (in my room*)
52.5 Glass Bricks (stopping my shower from soaking the rest of the room)
2 Cable TV boxes (one in my room)
1 Television (not in my room)
10 Mbit (the alleged speed of my internet connection)
3 am (the time the big heavy freight train went past and woke me up)
6 Pillows (on my bed - you can never have too many pillows)
2 Steps (from my bed to the shower)
7 Plug sockets (all silver and shiny)
n Boxes still unpacked (where n = too many)
6 Hours (until the guy comes to try fixing the shower of chinese water torture for the second time)

I hope you manage to clear the boxes soon. At least plenty of drawer space for all your belongings so you could end up with a very tidy toom. Trains tend to be noisy but you will get used to it and eventually sleep through it.

Yup, you'll get used to the trains eventually.

You missed some important things though. How many steps to the fridge? How many steps to the nearest alcohol? How far to the nearest take-away!

I have a similar list for the same house:

1 room that is a mess and needs sorting out.

You're managing the OCD (also known here as "tappers'n'touchers") then?

*grin*

Too much counting, not enough unpacking!

Happy new home.

An en-suite shower, eh? Sounds like you've really landed on your feet with this place. Who needs to unpack when you have the luxury of two steps from the bed to the shower :-)

When you say "an en-suite shower" I presume you're referring to something actually plumbed in, rather than the student-digs type en-suite shower resulting from a modern "hole in the roof" feature of the property...?

I like the thought of you doing your hair by silhouette on the wall. It sounds very arty and elegant.

Although I've always had a mirror, I once lost my hairbrush and combed my hair with a fork before work every morning for nearly a week.

That doesn't sound arty and elegant, does it, oh well.

But how many skeins of yarn do you have? Because that is what is important, you know?

I was going to send treats with Mike for you. But I didn't know what I had that you couldn't get over there. Lorna's Laces? Koigu? Anything? And I wasn't sure what colors you would like. So he came with no treats, but (but!) if you tell me what goodies you might like and send me your address, I will send goodies your way!
