What's in the box?
An hour and a half of work til I allow myself to open it.
An hour and a half of very productive work later, and the box is open. Can you tell what it is yet?
All oiled up and ready to go...
And the final result...
It's a spinning wheel. A Louet S17, courtesy of P&M Woolcraft and put together with some help from Neil and Adrian from Hello Yarn who graciously emailed me her fabulous rewritten instructions.
It is very lovely and a fantastic piece of precision engineering. I am very pleased. Now I just need to learn how to use it.
Oh my gosh , I think I can. Where did you get that from?
Are you going to pop by tomorrow night? Will you be able to tear yourself away from your new acquisition? Will your shrug pattern ever be available?
xxxxxxxxx
I'm guessing something to do with cross-stitch / weaving / other things related to turning balls of string into clothes.
Abi: A shop ;) via a nice man from Parcel Force.
Yes, I should be along tomorrow, and will explain about the shrug when I see you.
Pete: Close, but not quite :)
A knitting loom? (i.e. something where you can make your own wool/material/patterns) ?
Quite frankly that's about as close as I'm going to get. I just remember seeing a similar thing at my mum's. No idea exactly what it was...
Well, that's got some heads 'spinning'
;-D
Have fun,
Sue

Is it sad that I get a little giddy when I see photos with glimpses of that fan in them? I start to go on and on about how I don't know who the hell Elizabeth is, but I don't want to be a prostitute every single time.
(I know, that makes no sense to anyone other than the three of us, and I sort of like it that way.)
