In 2006 I Will...

• Find a new place to live, move into it and start the next chapter of my life in London.
• Reach the (semi)feared milestone that is 30.
• Attend at least one of SXSW or @Media. Hopefully both. (please feel free to light candles, say prayers, cross fingers, petition lesser deities, throw money, whatever you feel might be helpful to enable me to get there...).
• Finish the various bits of this site that need finishing.
• Re-launch the tragically and shamefully neglected Shoe Project.
• Knit baby clothes.
• Have at least one knitwear design published.
• Finish editing the few thousand conference photos I took last year and hand them all over.
• Try harder than I did last year to stay in touch with my family.
• Seek counselling to help me deal with the grief I still feel at the loss of my dad to enable me to move on and be able to think of him and remember him how he was, without the gut-wrenching pain and emptiness I feel forcing everything else out of the way.
• Do more things I haven't done before.
• Learn new things and put that knowledge into practice.
• Sort out a few niggly medical issues which have dragged on far too long now. This will include the rather scary prospect of undergoing challenge testing to discover which medicines are safe for me to test. This result is a good thing. The downside is that it seems that to figure this out, I have to spend several hours in hospital taking drugs and waiting for funky stuff to happen.
• Make more of an effort to walk more and eat more healthily.
• Do more public speaking type stuff at work, in the short term this will involve presenting to both the faculty and students at a University up north and the creative staff of a major creative (ads and web) agency. This is both thrilling and slightly scary.
• Get a proper pass for the Raindance Film Festival so I can go see more films without bankrupting myself. Going to the few screenings I went to last year was so much fun last year that I'm determined to do it properly this year.
• Write more.
• Try and get some (more) of my photos published places. In print would be great, but online would do. Both would be fab.
• Take more risks photographically. Push myself. Explore my creativity. (Get new camera first, obviously).
• Stop using the words "should" and "shouldn't" in relation to how I feel emotionally and accept that how I feel is how I feel and deal with it from there without the added guilt and pressure of beating myself up for feeling that way. (this one might be a work in progress for a long time)
