Happy Pills

22 March 2005

In no particular order, the following things have made me happy recently:

- Figuring out and resolving the problem that was preventing this site from displaying as intended in Opera.

- Roast Beef Monster Munch.

- Chinese food bed picnic.

- Scotland actually scoring a try (or three) against England.

- Finding out that Tesco have started producing their £6 bras in my size, saving me a minimum of £15 and a trip to Covent Garden to get new scaffolding (and by extension, managing not to laugh out loud at the beautiful moment when the checkout boy scanned the bra, clocked the size, then very obviously looked at my chest before putting it on the conveyor belt so I could pack it).

- Cadbury's Mini-Rolls. Two at a time, baby. Yeah!

- Ebay coming up trumps.

- Daffodils, snowdrops, tulips and cherry blossom.

- Waking up together to watch the Malaysian Grand Prix live, then snuggling and going back to sleep afterwards.

- Being in the best rock pub in the world and getting served before a bloke who'd been standing at the bar longer than I had.

- Finding out that they now sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the Tesco Express near my office, and having the willpower not to buy any.

- Being missed by a dog that's not mine.

What's made you happy recently?

What's made me happy? The new Smarties EGG. It's like a Creme Egg but filled with chocolate truffle and loads of little tiny smarties. It's TOTALLY AMAZING.

In no particular order....

Waking up, saying "screw it", and taking and extra hour to get ready. (I'm still not awake, three hours later.)

Cooking. Anything in the kitchen.

Kickass site redesigns (nice look!)

The thought of Krispy Kreme invading Britain. Now, if only Cadbury's could do the same over here....

Coffee. Lots of it.

Stressing myself (almost) sick about running my first ever "Client Workshop" - except the clients are aged 10 to 17....

... then I took a deep breath, let my hair down, and had a riot with them. It was perhaps the best "work" meeting I've ever had.

Result!

Reading this post made me laugh out loud :)
Especially the poor check out boy.

Also, i have a bag of undeveloped 35mm films (about 40 of them) from the last 15-20 years, i just never had the spare budget to get them processed. I kind of developed a zen approach to taking pictures, shoot it and then keep the film (if it was truly zen practise i probably would have had no film in the camera in the first place..)

But recently i have started chipping away at them, and its so mental, pictures from 10 - 15 years ago
and yesterday my sweetheart came home with 4 of them she had secretly smuggled out to snappy snaps and then we sat together and looked through them. this made me very very happy.

You finally discovering Roast Beef Monster Munch has made me happy!

Bumping into an old pal I fancy the arse off on a night bus last night has made me happy, and will probably keep me grinning all through Easter.

Having a whole week off to mess around at home before starting with a shiny new and exciting job is currently making me quite happy!

P.S: I've added your site to my showcase. It really keeps amazing me!

Wales winning the Grand Slam etc. made me hugely happy but not as happy as finding that my family were safe after hearing about the Doha bomb (same day) that wrecked my niece's school.

Hearing about the Tesco bras has made me happy but not as happy as knowing that you've been eyeballed by the same checkout operator ;-)

The cherry blossom appearing overnight on the tree outside my office window makes me happy but not as happy as the two elderly ladies currently sitting underneath it holding hands.
