Embarrassing as it is, in the face of overwhelming evidence, I'm forced to admit to it.
In four years "down south", I have indeed, gone soft.
I am indoors. The windows are all closed. The heating is on.
I am wearing (on top of underwear):
Tights
Knee high stripey socks
Ugly but usually warm track suit bottoms
A vest
A long sleeved top
A long sleeved cardigan
A big fluffy scarf
I'm still absolutely, utterly, god bless the ball-less wee monkeys, fucking freezing.
I'm seriously contemplating just going to bed, pulling the covers over my head and not coming out til July.
This is, quite simply, not right.
You know that they're predicting 20cm of snow by the weekend? At least it'll be warmer if it snows. I'm seriously thinking about getting one of those hideous dog coats for the mutt if this cold snap continues.
I cannot believe you've become a Southern softie Pix. :(
I'd suggest reverting back to a Scottish diet to bring some of your resitance back, you know;
bowls of porridge
tatties & neeps
haggis
Campbells soups
broth
best malt
:)
I get mocked all the time for dressing up warm. "But you're Canadian! You shouldn't have to!" Yes, but when you come from where the cold will quite happily *kill* you, you learn to dress warmly!
(Okay, and I'm a wuss too)
I am toasting here!
I have sat next to a roaring coal fire all day, alternately reading and making building webbys.
I am not going out - it is too damn cold. So I might as well be in London...
Well I am surprised it has taken this long. You used to make me cold just looking at you. But now I think the tables have turned slightly. At work I make everybody cold wondering around in vest tops, having hot flushes, opening the windows wide so I can breath, but going home, I am wrapped up warm ;o)
*shakes head in disgust*
Love to say more but I'm off out to shovel three feet of snow from my driveway... might even put a t-shirt on...
Wuss.
I've been feeling it unusually cold this year as well. Last week I figured that 2 16" pizzas would be enough food to allow me to hibernate until Spring. It's worth a try...
Wee Wifey, Glasgae born and bred, has turned the heating all the way up and is lying on the sofa under a duvet.
She's been down here for over ten years, though.
Fret not - being warm is a good thing, and stripey sox are marvellous. As long as they're not the ones with seperate toes - thats just wrong......
