Woo-hoo! I'm rich!
Gordon Brown's a generous bloke, isn't he?
The new budget means that I will be a whole £4.82 better off each month, rising to £4.86 if I spend my £4.82 on a bottle of wine.
If that's not an excuse for a nice bottle of Rioja, I don't know what is.
Don't spend it all at once!
Vote-winning bastards.
Look how they've got into your head by convincing you that because you can now buy another bottle of wine, you're better off under Labour.
Actually, nobody's winning my vote, because apparently I missed last Friday's deadline to be registered at my current address.
... and even if I was registered, apparently the guardian's calculator (which I used to prepare the figures above) was apparently wrong, because when I used the BBC's (more detailed) calculator last night and asked it to ignore adjustments for inflation, I discovered that I'm not £4.82 better off a month.
I'm not better off at all. Not even the 4p on a bottle of wine.
No Rioja for me then.
Boo.
I usually find that Friday is a good enough excuse for.. well just about anything alcoholic at all.
Me? Down by 48p.
If I had kids I'd be UP by £14 or so. Penalised by choice. Pah.
I know where my votes going (on a spoiled paper probably but that's another issue).
