This is the sweet and entirely asleep face of Mr Cat.
Mr Cat appeared on the terrace at the back of my house a couple of weeks after I moved in, looking very much like a cat I knew (Had a name tag which said "Noodles" and used to follow me to the end of the road in the morning when I was going to work and then wait there for me to come home and follow me back along the street to my house) when I lived on the street round the corner several years ago.
I have no idea whether Mr Cat is Noodles, or just looks like him (albeit a few years older now), but Mr Cat ran straight to me when I first saw him and went out on the terrace to say hello (I miss my cat, and any kind of cat lovin' is very much welcomed).
Since that first encounter, Mr Cat has appeared more frequently, and being more and more affectionate each time.
Sadly, since that first encounter, Mr Cat has also got thinner, slightly more scabby looking on account of having been beaten up several times and is obviously not a happy, healthy cat.
This makes me very sad, and on Saturday, I couldn't take it any more, so this is Mr Cat sleeping off some Whiskas Beef in Jelly on the end of my bed.
I think he might belong to the woman next door, but I'm not convinced that she's looking after him properly.
So for the moment, I'm going to continue to feed him once a day, and debate taking him to the clinic at Harmsworth to get him checked out, because apart from the skin irritation from overgrooming his tail area, I think he might have worms and I'm concerned about the bloody wounds he's sustained from being beaten up.
... and I'm trying (and apparently failing) not to fall in love with this very sweet, very affectionate, and very not mine cat.
If Mr Cat has chosen to be with you then who are you to worry about it. Have you asked the woman next door if it is her cat ? If its not hers keep him but look out for missing cat posters. He is obviously happier with you and we have inherited cats over the years that were possoble strays anyway so why change that habbit. Our cats really love the "Felix, as good as it looks" cat food pouches and since being fed that will not eat anything else, also it looks and smells better than other cat food.
Cats choose their owners, so if he keeps coming back don't resist the falling in love stuff. Nothing like a cat or three to make a house a home, and it sounds like he needs you.
hi i just searched Cats in blogs and this came up...well bye?

If Mr Cat is not Noodles, and he belongs to someone else, give me a shout, we have 7, week old kittens at home. You can have one if you want as we only have 2 to home.
Have you forgotten that cats don't have owners they have slaves!!!
You could take Mr Cat to a vets to see if he's been microchipped.
I'm pretty sure Mr.Cat has already clearly shown who *he* prefers to spend his time with. :)
When I've "stolen" neighbours' cats, they've generally not minded. If the cat's being ignored as much as he is, they don't really care much (if at all).
Mr Cat looks like a very nice cat. And not being a cat person, I am quite fussy as to what constitutes a nice cat :)
There's a cat similar in behaviour that leaves near my girlfriends flat. Whenever I'm sitting out the back smoking or drinking tea she always RUNS up the garden (it's a garden flat) and JUMPS on my lap, headbutting me profusely in that 'friendly cat headbutt'-type way. Then she climbs up my arm and across my shoulders, before jumping to the ground, rolling around and attacking my foot (which thankfully had a shoe on it).
I want to take her with us when we move to our new place.
You have been chosen!
Accept!
:-)
I have 'adopted' a cat on our street too. It started off much like the above - a daily feed, something small, and he was allowed to have a rest on the sofa for a while afterwards.
Whereas now, he is spending all his time in our flat and eating heartily. Oops. Still, his owners don't even let him indoors = how cruel is that?!
Mmmm - that's typical clever cat behaviour.
My friend's cat used to go round to neighbours and do the "I'm starving" look and get fed. In the meantime my friend was tearing her hair out as she could never decide whether he had really been fed or not. However, with the other injuries from Mr Cat, I think he's either been abandoned or as you say isn't well looked after my your neighbour. So I'd agree with what everyone else says and adopt him :-)
