I did it.
We did it.
It being visiting all the stations on the London Underground network in one day.
Starting at 5.28 am from Amersham and pulling into Upminster 19 hours, 25 minutes and 19 seconds later, at almost 1 am.
Pure insanity.
More information and several severely unflattering photos (I was hot, sweaty, grimy and now have black bogey syndrome despite blowing my nose several times) can be found courtesy of Annie Mole (and crew) over at Going Underground.
I'm now off to lie, whimpering, on the sofa again.
Wow, I'm amazed. And - oddly - hugely jealous. Congratulations!
Congratulations to al the participants, my leg would probably be on it's 5th oil change by now :)
The jealous comment:
As I said yesterday, everyone thinks you're a trainspotter freak until they get close to it and then realise that they want to be part of the action too.
As for Ann completing the challenge, I thought she did really well considering that she was worrying she was holding us up (which she wasn't) and was beginning to slow down towards the end.
It's a lot harder than you think, even for a seasoned freak like me.
I'm really proud of her for making it.
Well done! You're barmy, but all the same, well done.
Cool challenge. I did the Circle line pub round, you know - have a beer at each station. Not as easy as it seems at first! :-) Any, well done and cool pictures!
Gosh, I can't believe it. Ann you got up at before 5 a.m. That was a major achievement never mind the completing the challenge. I am so proud of you. Very well done.
That's great. I wondered why there were so many tube photos on your flickr page! I am quite jealous too. Could try it myself, but I doubt it'd be any fun on your own.
I recognised Amersham station from the group photo you uploaded before even reading that's where you started. Thought that was probably quite sad, but I did live near there for years so I was bound to recognise it really :)
Yes but you also had "Weathered & Interesting" hair remember?
(And that's just one stop down from Totteridge & Whetstone in case you were wondering).
Fantastic day.
Wow! That's brilliant!
